Biography of John Martin Harry England

Lance Corporal John Martin Harry England was born in London and matriculated to study Engineering at the University in 1942. He enlisted in the Scots Guards on 10 May the following year.

England was serving with "S" Company of the Scots Guards, attached to the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, when he was killed in action at Monte Piccolo in Italy on 28 May 1944. His brother and fellow University alumnus, Denys England, was also killed in the war.
