Biography of Peter George Smith

Peter George Smith attended Hillhead High School between 1935 and 1938, and in that same year was Company Sergeant-Major in the Cadet Corps.

His career in the Arts Faculty of Glasgow University was interrupted by the outbreak of war. He was commissioned in the 6th Highland Light Infantry. In May 1940, he was with the 52nd Division at Cherbourg.

Peter George Smith was killed in action in France on 15 June 1940.
