William Rennie
William Rennie

William Rennie (d 1957) was Professor of Humanity at the University, 1927 to 1934, and Professor of Greek from 1934 until 1946. He was Dean of Faculties from 1949 to 1953 and was awarded an LLD in 1947.

After studying at the Universities of Edinburgh and Cambridge, and becoming a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, Rennie came to Glasgow as Professor of Humanity in 1927. He was made a CBE in 1941.
