Biography of James Donald Mitchell
James Donald Mitchell graduated MA from the University in 1896 and BD in 1899.
He was born at Leangawella, Haputale in Ceylon, modern day Sri Lanka, son of James, a teacher, and brother of Norman Reid Mitchell.
Educated in Scotland, Mitchell became a minister working at various locations in Scotland and England, and from 1906 in India, where he was appointed chaplain at Mhow. In 1925 Mitchell was senior chaplain at St Andrews Church, Bombay (Mumbai). In 1933 he was demitted and admitted to Tarbet West.
