Garabed Yeghia Yardumian graduated MBChB from the University in 1907. He was born in 1879 at Yozgat, Turkey, then the Ottoman Empire, son of the late Yegia Yardumian, a minister. Yardumian had joined his brother in Scotland, who was a Presbyterian minister in Edinburgh.

Educated at Moray House, Edinburgh, Yardumian enrolled at the University of Glasgow in 1901 to study Medicine. Shortly after his graduation in 1907, Yardumian, an Armenian from the then Ottoman Empire, became naturalised in Britain on 16 January 1912 while residing in Liverpool.

Dr Garrie Yardumian ran a general practice in Liverpool for fifty years. He was also a member of the Liverpool Medical Institute and the British Medical Association.
