John Anthony Martin, Matriculation 1911-12
John Anthony Martin graduated BSc from the University in 1914. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil, son of engineer, Julio.
Martin enrolled in 1911, aged 21, a year earlier than his brother, Valentine. Studying in the Faculty of Science, Martin attended classes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Natural Philosophy, Engineering (laboratory and drawing), and Metallurgy, and graduated BSc in Engineering on 14 November 1914. While at the University he received a first class certificate in Natural Philosophy under Professor Andrew Gray (Ordinary Graduating Class, 1912-13).
