Biography of Robert Leslie Hadek
Robert Leslie Hadek graduated PhD from the University in 1954.
Hadek was born in Budapest, Hungary, on 10 July 1924. He attended the University of Budapest (1942-45) and Veterinary School of Vienna (1946-48) before matriculating at the University of Glasgow in 1951 as a PhD research student in Veterinary Medicine. Hadek was awarded his PhD in 1954 with his thesis entitled Study on the ovary, oviduct, and uterus of the ewe.
Dr Hadek went on to work as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology in Iowa State University, USA, and became a member of the American Association of Anatomists. As well as being a United States Public Health Service Special Research Fellow, Dr Hadek published a book on his research on mammalian fertilization.
