George Sharp Douglas 
Biography of George Sharp Douglas
George Sharp Douglas studied at the University from 1892 to 1896. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, son of Alexander, a retired merchant and soap manufacturer, and grandson of John Sharp Douglas, the founder of the global Douglas perfumery chain.
Douglas resided in Cardross and later Greenock while studying at the University, joining his brothers, John. He took an Arts course, attending classes in Latin, German, Mathematics, Logic, English Literature, followed by tow years of Physics, Chemistry and Zoology.
