Biography of Hjalmar Berg
Hjalmar Berg graduated BSc from the University of Glasgow in 1899. He was born in Copenhagen, son of Christen Berg, an editor and politician in Denmark.
Hjalmar enrolled at the University in 1895, aged 21, where he specialized in Engineering, studying under Professor Archibald Barr. He also studied Chemistry under Professor John Ferguson for his first two years at the University. In his first year Hjalmar received an award for Junior Engineering Class, being ranked among the top three.
Hjalmar worked as an engineer in Glasgow for a few years before returning to his hometown of Copenhagen.
