Biography of Severo Campo Fregoso
Severo Campo Fregoso, son of Bonifacio Campo Fregoso, an engineer, was born in Rovigo, Italy. He enrolled at the University in 1910, aged 24, to study Science, taking junior classes in Naval Architecture.
Fregoso went on to file various patents in the advancements of mechanical engineering. The first published in July 1912, related to the ‘improvement in Wheels’ of road vehicles; a second published in November 1918 detailed the ‘improvements in Internal Combustion and other Engines’.
According to Flight magazine, in January 1917, Severo and two others were charged for "collecting and recording information about certain aircraft likely to be useful to the enemy".
