Biography of Josiah Stranaghan Harbinson
Josiah Stranaghan Harbinson graduated MB ChB from the University in 1908. He was born in Rathfriland, County Down in 1878 where his father, Alexander, was an ironmonger.
Harbinson enrolled at the University in the summer session of 1903, and graduated with on 14 July 1908.
After graduation he moved to Accrington to practise medicine. In the First World War he served as a lieutenant in the medical branch.
He was latterly honorary surgeon and anaethetist, and made Officer of the Order of St John in 1944. He died in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1952.
