Biography of Harold Douglas Mackie
Harold Douglas Mackie studied at the University of Glasgow from 1910 to 1912. He was born at Coonaborabran, New South Wales, son of Arthur, a stock inspector.
Mackie graduated BA from the University of Sydney in 1910 before enrolling at the University of Glasgow the same year, aged 24. Over the course of two years, Mackie took classes in Political Economy, Moral Philosophy (including Higher), Political Philosophy and Social Economics.
He returned to New South Wales, Australia where he married Matilda Ferguson in 1913 in Ashfield.
