Biography of Unwin Jackson Moffat
Unwin Jackson Moffat graduated BSc from the University in 1926. He was born at Livingstonia, Nyasaland, son of missionary Malcolm Moffat, and brother of John Smith and Robert Laws Moffat.
Moffat enrolled at the University in 1923, and over three years he studied Chemistry, Botany, Natural Philosophy, Zoology, Field Engineering, Political Economy, Agriculture, Bacteriology, Surveyance and Engineering. He was joined at the University by his brothers, John Smith and Robert Laws Moffat.
Upon graduation in 1926, Moffat returned to his home residence of Chitambo, Serenje, Northern Rhodesia, modern day Zambia, where he pursued a career as an agricultural officer and farmer.
