Biography of James Eyre Walcott
James Eyre Walcott graduated MB ChB from the University in 1931. He was born at St Michael, Barbados, son of William Hollingsed, a sugar planter.
Walcott enrolled at the University in 1924 to study Engineering, taking classes in Natural Philosophy, Chemistry and Mathematics. He then commenced his Medical degree in 1925, graduating MB ChB in 1931. In 1933 he took a further class in Bacteriology.
