Biography of John Stirling

Matriculating at the University of Glasgow in 1803 to study an Arts course, John Stirling was the third son John Stirling, fifth Baronet of Glorat, Stirlingshire.

Stirling joined the Royal Navy after attending University. He died on 15 August 1837 at his sister's residence (Mrs Ann Napier)in Tobago.

Two of his brothers also attended the University: George matriculated in 1801, serving as a captain in the army, and Samuel matriculated in 1800, taking on his father’s title of Baronet of Glorat.
